What is the Melkite Catholic Young Adult Organization?
The Melkite Catholic Young Adult Organization is the official group catering to the youth and young adults of Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Ottawa. The group meets regularly for spiritual, social and cultural activities for all interested youth and young adults in the Ottawa-Hull region.
The organization is divided into two groups: Youth and Young Adult. The Youth group is geared to ages 14 through 18 and meets every Thursday night at 7:00 PM. The Young Adult group is geared to ages 19 through 35 and meets every second Friday night at 8:00 PM.
What happens at the Young Adult meetings?
We always begin with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. The prayer service is either Byzantine Vespers or Byzantine Complines. The meeting then starts at 8:00 PM sharp. Your punctuality is greatly appreciated. The meetings are usually discussions on current issues and how they relate to our faith. We discuss the lives of the Saints, the Bible and the Liturgy. The topics are very interesting and enjoyable.
